However, it is unclear if the upvotes counted are on 'the article itself' or 'the comment on this page' that links back to the article. Both places can be voted on, but which is what you actually count? If you count the 'article itself', does that mean you need to visit each submitted entry to view the votes on that article and make note of the number of votes it received or is there a simpler method? It seems like one heck of a lot of work!

Ah! OK, thanks for the clarification. I wonder if that point is clear with others who have submitted or may submit in the future? Of course this method would be easier on you, but puts the first few submissions at an advantage because those willing to vote need to put in greater effort to find the later submissions that are farther down.

yeah. I've seen that, but I've also seen how people that interact with their followers to rally votes can be succesful even if they are a little late to the party.
