How to make a vanilla cupcake.
Will be showing a really quick and easy recipe on how to make a plain vanilla cupcakes.
To make 12 large cupcakes, you need:
150g of butter
150g of caster sugar
150g of self-raising flour
3 eggs
2 tablespoons of milk
2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
A teaspoon of baking powder.
Pre-heat the oven to 1600 celsius or gas mark 3.
Then, line a cupcake tray with cupcake cases
Add the butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Beat both the butter and sugar together
Add the eggs one at a time, mix between each one.
Then, mix in the vanilla extract.
Add the baking powder to the flour and stir in. Even when using the self-rising flour, the added baking powder makes the cakes a little lighter and fluffier.
Add your flour-baking powder mix to your wet mixture.
After mixing in all the flour and baking powder, add the milk and mix that in.
So now, you are going to spoon the batter into the cases. Spoon them in until about a third full.
Now bake in the oven for about 25 minutes.
Once they are golden brown on top, you know they are done
Take them out of the oven, then leave them for 5 minutues before transferring them to a colling rack.
12 delicious vanilla cupcakes. You can decorate them using buttercream, icing, chocolate ganache etc.
