Updates to @PlayDice
@PlayDice has been cruising along nicely for some months now, and the time is now for some updates/upgrades that will see more STEEM ending up in YOUR pocket!
Update 1 - Easier to Qualify (0.005 upvote only)
The price of STEEM has everyone sad, and I agree... that isn't fun to watch... but for @PlayDice, this means that there are less and less people qualifying for each game as well (a lower STEEM price also means that your upvote value is lower).
How is this being addressed?
Qualifying vote value dropped to 0.005 - @BraaiBoy still wants to keep spammers and random bots out of the game, but these shitheads are voting around 0.003 or less, which is why the entry is at 0.005. NB: This may/will return to 0.01 without notice if (or shall I say WHEN :P) the price of STEEM climbs again ;-)
Update 2 - SBD vs STEEM Payouts
The deal has always been that the entire SBD portion of author rewards is shared with the winners. Easy enough when author rewards were just being paid out in SBD and Steem Power... In recent days, author rewards include a portion paid out in STEEM as well. Long story WHY this happens, but in short that means that there's less going around for the winners.
How is this being addressed?
@SteemBasicIncome shares for the loyal players - @PlayDice could have just split the STEEM payouts with the winners like with the SBD... but instead, it's gonna get a little more interesting. Once a week (more or less because it will be a semi-manual process triggered by @BraaiBoy when he's not out partying), the "top players" for the previous 7 Days will be entered into a lottery draw, and 1 @SteemBasicIncome share will be given out for every 1 STEEM that was accumulated.
but wait... there's an extra little twist: The biggest LOSERS for the week will be favoured over the biggest winners. OK, let me explain with stats from yesterday:
According to yesterday's stats the above people played the most games, and they will each get 1 ticket into the draw for each game they played. HOWEVER, for every game that was WON, 1 ticket will be taken away. i.e.
@jameszenartist , @randomness and @foodfightfriday will each have 4 tickets (8 played - 4 won), but @charliebrownkr and @robhimself1 will each have 7 (7-0 and 8-1 respectively).
Update 3 - Bots don't get to play!
@BraaiBoy has thrown in a few cents to every game for bots to upvote and "fill the pot" for everyone else that's playing. While these bots never qualified for payouts, they did still roll the dice and could win/lose as well as affect stats and would therefore qualify for "best player" and/or "worst player" for the week (More about this in the next update... but in short: The best and worst players each week will soon be rewarded, in addition to their game winnings.)
BONUS Update: Giving away 10 @SteemBasicIncome shares
The more people playing the game, the bigger the prize pool, and the only way we'll get more people to play is for more people to find out about @playdice.

Well... a) You could write a post about the new rules and how there are now more ways to win and/or b) You can Resteem this post.
5 random people that write a post promoting @PlayDice will receive a @SteemBasicIncome share, and 5 random people that resteemed this post will also receive a share. Entries remain open until this post reaches payout.

I dont understand the rulez of this game
You just need to upvote any post that's still "[OPEN]" and then +/-12 hours later the bot will automatically roll the dice for you... That's all there is to it.

No... you don't get upvotes... if your dice roll is higher than the bots, then you win actual SBD ... and once a week you can win shares in @steembasicincome as well now.
So what are the chances of winning then
It depends on the bot rolls. The bot rolls a 2 or a 3, then your odds of winning are almost guaranteed... if the bot rolls a 10 or 11, then your odds of losing are almost guaranteed :-)
Of course if you do beat the bot when it rolls a 10, chances are you'll be the only one, or 1 of a handful, and then the payouts are a lot more.
