How to Maximize Your Overall Voting Power

Do you know that your voting power diminishes 2% of your remaining voting power for every full upvote you cast? Do you also know that your voting power gets replenished 20% every 24 hours until it reaches 100%?

Examples

Let us take a look at two examples:

• You have 100% voting power. As soon as you do an upvote, your voting power diminishes to 98%. It will take 2.4 hours for it to come back to 100%.
• You have 50% voting power. As soon as you do an upvote, your voting power diminishes to 49%. It will take 1.2 hours for it to come back to 50%.

To maximize your overall voting power

• Don't let your voting power sit at 100% without doing an upvote. Otherwise, you are just wasting your voting power. When the voting power reaches 100%, it stops being replenished. You could have used it and let it replenish. If you are coming back to upvote again in 24 hours, use your voting power now and keep it below 80%. If you are coming back to vote in 12 hours, keep it below 90% for now. If 6 hours, keep it below 95%, etc.

Let us say you plan to do it every 24 hours.

• At 100% voting power, you'll need 11 full upvotes for the voting power to diminish to 80%.
• At 50% voting power, you'll need 25 full upvotes for the voting power to diminish to 30%.

Therefore, there is more work when you keep your voting power lower. You spread out your votes more (11 vs. 25) and each upvote has less voting value (100% vs 50%).

If you know you are going to take a break (not recommended ;-) for 48 hours, leave your voting power below 60% before you take a break. For 72 hours, leave your voting power below 40%.
