Tired of whales deciding who gets the big money on Steemit?
Tell 5 people to join Steemit then. Steemit was designed to scale well, in the begining the Whale dictatorship is a necessary evil to help allocate new Steem faster. Imagine a billion daily active users on Steemit. Whale votes would not be necessary to make a $50 post.It would still be skewed in favor of the famous and well connected as everything in life is. But gaining a following could count for more on Steemit than any other social media site.

You are so right. If they don't there will be just a school a whales chasing each other's tails in the steemit tank. If whales are the decision makers for change then who's really going to vote to give up power or earning capability?
Yeah exactly, everybody should have at least a bit more voting power from the begining on, or there should be a max. for each post, like 250$ or so lets say, like this more posts getting upvoted. If you look at my daily Report, you can see that we have every day less and less active accounts and posts... We need some change NOW! Otherwise Steemit will be history very soon!

@matrixdweller, you are right, but the very foundation of steemit produces whales inherently. People who consistently provide good content will accrue large amounts of steem power, which in turn causes them to grow even faster, making them trend and build a following. We all already know that Steem power= influence and so we have to live with it, unless we want them to change the way steem power is earned, but that may only reduce mobility further, much like how haphazard taxation squeezes the middle classes who have fought so hard to elevate themselves. The whales are only going to get fatter, the best we can do is try and fatten ourselves from their blubber in the hopes of one day joining them.
