So this is the week that Minnow Mentor starts to kick off, and this post is to give an overview of how to delegate SteemPower to the project, and collect the rewards.

What is @MinnowMentor?

@minnowmentor is a project to help minnows grow by providing great curated feedback on posts as well as upvotes.

Investors can support the project by delegating SteemPower from their accounts. They will receive half of the SBD which are created by the @minnowsupport project. The other half of the SBD will be distributed to the mentors for their time supporting the minnows.

At the moment, Delegating SteemPower has a couple of not too difficult to follow steps... certainly, experienced Steemers will easily be able to figure it out from following the instructions below to the letter!

OVERVIEW TO DELEGATING STEEM POWER

The three steps to follow are these:

1. Decide how much you want to delegate. The more you delegate, the greater share of the rewards you will receive.
2. Convert the amount of SP you have chosen to delegate to VESTS.
3. Use the steemconnect link to delegate your SP

Now read down to find out how to do each one. If you get stuck, please come and find us on discord (links below) and ask for help. It's actually quite easy if you just follow the guide though.

STEP 1: DECIDE HOW MUCH YOU WANT TO DELEGATE

Ok, so this is completely up to you. The minimum amount you can delegate is 30SP. The more you delegate, the more reward you will share. If @minnowmentor works the way we hope it will, the rewards will be fantastic over time.

Every week we will be posting on @minnowmentor the reward structure. It is our aim to be 100% transparent and verifiable, and to provide exceptional feedback.

STEP 2: CONVERT THE AMOUNT OF SP YOU WANT TO DELEGATE TO VESTS

Follow these steps carefully.

(i) Go to https://steemd.com/ and lookup the number steem_per_mvests (top right hand box)
(ii) Calculate (1,000,000 / steem_per_mvests) * amount_of_STEEM_you_want_to_delegate.
(iii)Round/trim the number so you have exactly 6 digits after the decimal. Include all six numbers, even if the last one(s) are zeros. YOU MUST HAVE THESE 6 DIGITS OR IT WON'T WORK PROPERLY!
(iv) Make sure you have at least that amount of SP currently in your account powered up. You cannot delegate SP if you are powering down!

EXAMPLE: the current steem_per_mvests as of todays date (28th August 2017) is 484.866

If you wanted to delegate 50 STEEM of SP to @minnowmentor, the sum is:

(1,000,000 / 484.866) * 50 = 103121.274744

STEP 3: DELEGATE USING STEEMCONNECT LINK

Copy down this link, and replace the information highlighted below in CAPITALS with your information

https://v2.steemconnect.com/sign/delegateVestingShares?delegator=YOURACCOUNT&delegatee=minnowmentor&vesting_shares=N.NNNNNN%20vests

Replace YOURACCOUNT with your account name. Do not put the @ sign
replace N.NNNNNN with the amount of VESTS you are delegating that you calculated in step 2. Remember it MUST be rounded to 6 decimal places.

Once you have done this, paste the whole thing into a browser and hit go.

You will end up with a box that looks like this:

Now, hit continue and you will be asked in a second box to confirm by entering your username (again without the @ sign) and your password or active key.

And that's it. The final step is to just give me a nod that you have done it. Obviously I will be able to check anyway, but as I'm a real human and not a bot (yet) it's just easier for me to keep track when people let me know straight away that it's done.

REWARDS

Rewards will initially be manually posted each week. The SBD rewards which minnowmentor earns will be split between mentors (who give up their time) and delegators (who provide the SteemPower).

It is our hope that @minnowmentor will be HUGE, and because it's a transparent, and completely free service which assists the whole community, we think it will do very well, and be highly respected.

This is the sort of thing that the Steemit economic-ecosystem was designed to support. Great ideas which help everyone and which generate wealth and abundance. It's a perfect use of the Steemit system supporting itself.

TRANSPARENCY AND ACCOUNTABILITY

It is understood that investing in any project is risky. I want @minnowmentor to work really well, and for that reason I'm asking for witnesses to independently verify on a regular basis that @minnowmentor is in fact doing exactly what it says it will do. My reputation is being staked on this, and I've been very open about this project.

In order to make sure that investors are protected, instead of asking for STEEM or SBD donations, I am only asking for STEEM POWER delegations, which means that the delegator (that's you) retains complete control of their investment at all times. They can withdraw it at any point in time, and there is nothing I can do to stop this from happening.

Secondly, payments to mentors and delegates will be posted in a blog link weekly, and this will be public, and can be publically checked against the @minnowmentor wallet.
