Both bikes are size 58 are were stolen from a garage in South Minneapolis on Saturday 18 May 2018

These belong to my boyfriend/partner/favorite guy. He saved money for over a year to buy the Salsa. As cyclists likely know, the memories of miles pedaled and adventures experienced on our two wheeled rides are priceless. We believe these bikes will come home :)

Two men have been seen trying to sell the bikes in the neighborhood of Bloomington Ave and 26th St. Photos and information are filed with police.

Local steemians, if you see the bikes please report to 911 and the officers will connect with us. Also, comment here or message me on steemit.chat (same username)

Thank you!!!

Fuck this idiot !

He has a reputation for stealing bikes, we have found out. We can't replace the bikes and want them back above all. Stopping this guy from taking more would be awesome too.

Oh man...it sucks to have a bike stolen (and two really sucks). At least the security footage is good though, so I hope he gets them both back.

Thanks! We know the thief's identity. The videos are more clear than these copied photos.

Good news. Hopefully the police will take this seriously since he is a repeat offender. Hoping to see a positive update soon.

Oh no!! I'm so sorry to hear about this, @mininthecity. That is awful. I hope they find him and he goes to jail. I've resteemed. You should plaster his picture on every coffee shop bulletin board, lamp post and gas station window in the area with the words "WANTED: BIKE THIEF." Ugh. Good luck! I really hope you get the bikes back.

Thank you!!! We posted flyers and plan to post more. He has a reputation for stealing and selling bikes. The police can hopefully arrest him now that we have evidence and an eye witness who saw him later riding one of the bikes with a buddy riding the other. It's my understanding that the case will be assigned to an officer tomorrow (Monday). We can't replace the bikes and believe they'll be recovered. Thank you again for your support, it helps :)

Duuuude I'm miles again but I feel like punching that guy to death, glad you have his face. All I con do for you now is hope for the best, you'll find them.

Thanks for your support @mrprofessor!

This is awful! I absolutely hate to promote f-book here, but do you have a group on there for bikes stolen in your city? We have a Buffalo Stolen Bikes group and through that group I was actually able to recover a bike that was stolen from me. I also helped someone else recover a bike on there after spotting someone on an obviously stolen expensive touring bike. I hope you are able to get the bike back!

Thank you! We do have Twin Cities Stolen Bikes and the cycling community is really supportive and awesome overall. People are viewing our posts there and looking for the bikes. One friend chased two guys riding these bikes until they signaled to a third to chase him off. So close! I appreciate your encouraging experiences of recovering stolen ones: bikes do make it home! In the meantime I'll hope Steem skyrockets and I can buy him something to ride ;)

Gave you a resteem. Hopefully we can find the pendejo responsible.

Thanks! Every set of eyes helps! We really appreciate it @ddrfr33k

Hate to say it, but those bikes are too nice to be left (unlocked?) in a garage, or out of sight.

Two of my bikes are less than 2 meters away from me , and the 3rd is locked to a pole outside, and its worth less than $100.

Thieves are everywhere, if you forget that, you lose, game over.

I lock mine inside a locked garage. My friend had faith in the garage door alarm and auto-close, and security camera alerts, and chose to be more trusting. Sadly, those mindsets didn't keep the bikes secure.

Garages provide cover, and sometimes even tools, for cutting locks.

The camera is a good idea, if you are close enough to intervene, otherwise its just an image recorder that does almost nothing to prevent this crime.

Thieves in China disable the cameras before stealing anything, and often work in groups, always with someone watching out.

Nobody got hurt, the bikes are replaceable, and with lots of luck you might even get them back.

It could have been much worse.
