Route to go for starting

I have been Very interested in crypto for the past few weeks now. I am doing all the research I can but still have so many questions I want to ask. Now I am very interested and practiced in the trading side of crypto in exchanges. My friends are the ones who are in the mining scene and are excelling in a good way. They give me advice and pointers but I enjoy doing my own research outside of my personal life. Are there any tips or any advice that an experienced miner can give to a entry level splunker like my self?

Two tips:

If you want to start mining without buying expensive hardware and you already have a nice GPU try Monero Pool Mining. Simply search for the Monero thread in the BitcoinTalk Forum. There you can find additional information.
Stay away from Cloud mining companies. These are companies were you can rent Mining Equipment. It's not that all of them are scams but the payout of the legit ones is so low that you should host your own equipment instead because the cloud mining contracts need 1 1/2 years to pay for themselve.

Thank you for the advice! Are Nvidia cards worth investing in when it comes to mining? Are they more focused for certain coins like zCash?

If you don't want to spend too much the Radeon RX 470/480 4gb is the best option right now. You can mine most coins like ETH and zcash with a profit.
You can find the 470 at 200€ and the 480 at 260€.
There are Nvidia cards that have more power but they are so expensive that you could buy two or three 470's for the same price. :)
