Obelisk started an ASIC miner presale last year and Bitmain beat them to the punch to the dismay of SC1 presale buyers. Not only that but now they are flooding the market that any hope of a timely ROI is quickly evaporating unless the devs produce a chip with much more than the anticipated hashrate. A lot of people are pissed because the devs had an option to support their customer base but opted out for political correctness.
I created this video to poke a bit of fun after hearing about Samsung getting into the ASIC business. A lot of burned Obelisk customers want to see them get crushed for their shady dealings. I'm one of them.
Many are also disappointed in the devs decision to not soft fork their coin as a counter to Bitmain's aggressive business tactics. Hope you enjoy my first Dtube video!

Mining will be around for a while, despite all the talk about Proof of Stake - according to Clif High. Wonder what other products will come out in the future.
Decred is coming up quick. BLAKE256. Some people think we could see an ASIC for CryptoNight but it's memory intensive so that would probably be costly.
As ETH moves to POS we will see some of the mining shift to other coins. Hoping ETC is one of them.
What's the ETA on that? I have a bit of ETC.
