GOD does not exist... Yet.

The idea of God is as old as humanity. Doomed to make sense out of our lives, we humans tend to search for answers. God has been the most popular answer amongst those we’ve found. I will not, in this post, mention all the different forms, shapes, identities that God or Gods have taken throughout history, - that does not have any sort of relevance whatsoever-. However, we all agree that if a God exists, hence God is Love, God is Mercy, God is Patience, God is Tolerance, God is Unity, God is Peace, God is Respect etc. Therefore, it becomes interesting to see that maybe we have been wrong in considering God as a supreme being or just as a being when God is merely a behavior. So it becomes hard for me to think that God created us when we are the ones who can create God.

It takes then a quick look to the world to jump to the most compelling conclusion : God does not exist… yet; at least for everybody because we did not create a world which grants love, mercy, patience, tolerance, unity, peace, respect to every single human being who by the way fully deserves those things. How many people are praying for love, for peace, for unity without ever hearing from the God they are addressing their most keen desires ? God is yet to exist for so many people!

But the role of God is hard to take on. It requires work, sacrifice, generosity, respect, love, humility when it is so much easier to be lazy and hateful. So, it does not really surprise me that we humans are too much of cowards not to act like the Gods we can be or not to act like God as a whole.

I am going to give a quick example : a single mother and her child are hungry all night. The single mother did not sleep a blink. She spent the whole night praying to God so that God could grant them something to eat. You pass by and see them and their situation makes your eyes water. You take a 20 dollars bill out of your pocket and give it to her. What do you think you are at that moment ? She was praying God, wasn’t she ?

This is, obviously, a very simplistic example. We can go further and further. People who do not believe in God ask often a very pertinent question : if God exists, then why the hunger in the world ? Then why war exists ? Then why children are dying ?

Are their not people in the world powerful enough to terminate hunger ? War ? Those people are Gods concerning those matters because they have the power to perform a Godly miracle for those who suffer. So the heartless Gods that ignore prayers are us and only us ! We are the same “God” that we criticize!

We all become Santa for our kids, why can’t we become God for those who suffer ? Because we love our children unconditionally and we would do anything for them since they are family. Yet, we struggle to love enough our family in humanity to be the God they might expect when we have the power. If we do not even see a human while we are looking at the other, if we think that the other can be a lesser human than we are, then we evidently cannot be a God!

We can be God and we can be the Devil. Both are merely behaviors but being the devil is quite more “fun”.

It does not take supernatural powers to be God, everybody, on their level can be God by acting like one. Do, at your level, what you would expect a God to do, because that is your responsibility as the God of that situation. And it is only when we all converge in doing that, that we can finally brag about having built a world where God exists.

God will only exist if we all unconditionally love and respect each other as humans.
