Toughs on wellness and 5 amazing podcasts that will help you to live healthier and more fulfilling life

in #mindset5 years ago

It's time to talk about health in a key of wellness education. And i don't mean health in a way where we deep dive into what kind of supplements you should take or in which body opening you should use to consume those or how many hours you should stand on one leg at the same time meditating while mumbling that you are organic cucumber. Don’t get me wrong, i'm very into supplements and i do think that meditation gives you immense value, but there's tons of content out there that helps you to navigate in those worlds. All you need to do is to read through those 47879 articles and find what works for you. Easy!

Now, what i wanna talk about, is the big picture. Reason why i maybe might sound a bit condescending in my intro, is the fact that no magic supplement or yoga pose or zen meditation will suddenly make your life magical, where there are only unicorns and rainbows everywhere you look. Like tree will bear fruit overtime, not right away after you put the seed into the ground (i know i know, cliché. But hey, i do not claim i invented this saying), you also need to to be able to plant the seed first, then water it, fertilize it and nurture it, and to give some time, before you could claim your fully ripe fruits. This means you need to advance, grow and focus not only in one specific field, but to be able to increase your knowledge in multiple areas as well as balance  your life in general. And usually this “water” and “fertilizer” are those two components, if you will, that i see people struggle the most (i know i did!). Nurturing is something you need to do yourself; as this translates into actual work, motivation and will; in this real and mortal world (sorry - millennials and snowflakes - if this is too blunt and i have massively offended you by saying those harsh words).

Your “water” and “fertilizer”

By those two synonyms (i know, shocker!) i actually mean the information and knowledge that you consume. In today's world, where there are vast amounts of data available, it can be tiny bit challenging to get on the right track and to find your beginning on this path. And to cite classics: “Fake news!” - there's a lot of “do this and you will achieve this in just 2,7 seconds”. This is BS! Nothing big worth living for happens in 2,7s. You maybe will get hit by a bus or get catch a load of excrement shot out by a overhead seagull in that short burst of time, but like i said, nothing worth living for… so lets be real! Btw, something i have wanted to say for a while: We tend to complain and take this victim role because in this case we can shift away the responsibility we have in our life to become awesome. Once we do that, its much easier to point out the reasons why we cant be great and how every card in this table is always turned against us… For **** sakes, wake up and stop drinking the kool aid!!!
So enough of my rambling and its time to give you something that actually made you click on this post: “Toughs on wellness and 5 amazing podcasts that will help you to live a healthier and more fulfilling life”. Sorry that i couldn't come up with a longer title…

  1. Bulletproof Radio Podcast - My absolute favourite! If words like "biohacking", "better you", "high achiever" or "achieving your highest potential" will get you somewhat excited or at least will spark an interest of finding out more, than this is your guy and your channel. As a former 300 lb (or 136.078 kg for those who have never seen a "lb" sign in the grocery store) Silicon Valley Executive, Dave Asprey has officially transformed himself into high achiever, super healthy and bulletproof, who interviews some of the most exceptional people in this field, that will help you become more healthier, balanced, zen and fierce biohacker (if that’s what you desire). Just bare in mind, that as of the moment of this writing, he has released 592 episodes (btw while running a brand valued at hundreds of millions of dollars, writing books, doing some extensive research, running 3 big conferences per year, flying around the world to speak at different events AND raising 2 kids while keeping her wife happy - i guess that resume speaks for itself and you can quite confidently say that whatever he’s doing is working). So if you are as novice as i was, when i first found this podcast, i recommend you to go back at least 300+ episodes to ease yourself in and to work your way up. Incredible source of information and each episode will give you tons of value!
  2. The MFCEO Project - in your face advice on how to stop sitting on your ass while complaining how you cant be successful (yes, we’re all looking at YOU who claim that you’re “too busy” to read 10 pages a day at the same time spending hours behind your phone mindlessly scrolling your social media feed or watching Game Of Thrones just to learn that in one point the storyline in HBO series and CNN are very similar - same shit different day?). Andy (host) is a self made millionaire who came from nothing (even worse - he came from average middle class, where people are usually too comfortable to change therefore not to become self motivated) and built his 200+ million $ worth supplement business. But as always, things aren't as glorious as people want to think and see - his fist couple of years in business were rough, to say the least.
    * PS! If you have delicate years or in your everyday life you ride your fluffy pink pony everywhere you go - you DEFINITELY need to listen what Andy has to say, as reality check would serve you well.
  3. Impact Theory with Tom Bilyeu - Another great self made man who just happens to be in the supplement business. Great insight how to become a better person (doesn't matter if you have a drive to become entrepreneur or not) and how to overall succeed in this life. Has some of the most amazing guest on his show to discuss about the topics of health, wellness, success, motivation, business, and overall how to be a better person. Tom has build a business worth over $ 1B, i think he might have some knowledge that would help you!
  4. Freakonomics Radio - More of an “open your eyes and learn how things work in this world” type of a podcast. Those who have read the classics of “Freakonomics” (Book by Stephen J. Dubner and Steven Levitt) have a pretty good understanding what this podcast is about. Those who haven't, it's time to put away your toy guns and to stop playing indians. Anyhow, great insight into different problems in this world and how the problems were tackled. Helps you to change your angles to your problems.
  5. The GaryVee Audio Experience - Once again, another self made success who doesn't sugarcoat things. You’ve probably heard of Gary Vee (Gary Vaynerchuk) and have seen his quotes and short viral videos on social media (unless you live under a rock). He will tell you straight in your face and without the cute fluffiness, that in order to achieve success, you need to put in time and work. He's interviewing some great guests and you'll get a lot of insight how other people in this world deal with their struggles (yes, you heard it right, everyone have their problems, you're not the only one)

So, to close this long rant: if you are not successful yet, then chances are you are not doing the things you need to do in order to get there. So swallow your pride, stop telling yourself that “i don’t need this shit, i know what i need to do” and support yourself with better knowledge. Ask any successful person, they all tell you that the overnight success takes 5-10 years. But keep in mind, it's not about the final destination, it's about the person you will become during that venture that matters. Stop chasing the next shiny object and focus on your personal growth. If you do that, you start to see how everything else starts to fall into place. Money is not the ultimate goal, it’s a side product!!!
I hope my list will help you in quest of finding rainbows and infinite youth. Worst that can happen is that you get whole lot smarter (true bummer!).

Over and out! Stay curious, stay motivated, stay open minded!
