Christian wisdom: Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior

When we accept Jesus and his teachings, we no longer live according to the passions of the flesh but we follow the dictates of the spirit: "Shun youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart," 2 Timothy 2:22. Passions like anguish, guilt, fear, and hate, divide the mind, and make us enemies of ourselves and God: "Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior", Colossians 1:21.
When the passions are installed in the mind, it is when obsessive, repetitive thoughts arise, that reason cannot control, the person who suffers from this knows that what he is doing is wrong, but the act vents the compulsive thought. An example is the phobic thinking. The person stops acting rationally and begins to act to let chaotic and destructive thoughts flow. The mind loses its unity, which produces suffering.
Sin divides, the spirit unites: "I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought" 1 Corinthians 1:10.

The spirit brings with it a fruit that generates inner peace with oneself, and as a consequence the peace with our neighbor: the self-control, control over one's own mind. The self-control means that the mind when is under pressure can make an inner silence and clearly perceive the correct action. When we live righteously, when we follow the dictates of the spirit of wisdom, thoughts seek harmony, not the personal gain.
Jesus with his mercy asks us first to change ourselves internally, to then change society, in this consists the true christian wisdom.
