Why did I choose mindfulness?

A long time ago I choosed to change my life and look for enlightment. But Why? And what does this mean? And how would I do it?

Humans are in this life looking for happiness. Happiness can be described in many ways, but basically it is something that makes us feel good. In the other hand, suffering is like the opposite of happyness. Being sad, anxious, angry or depressed are things that make us suffer in this life.

SInce teenager I understood that only looking for a form of enlightment was the way of going through this life with the minimum amount of suffering or pain, and in the way I found the word "mindfulness".

During this constant search, I found the knowledge form the buddisht and shinto religions in Asia, wich teaches us about going through the everyday challenges but being able to overcome the pain at the same time. Mindfulness help us to overcome the pain of existence by being aware of the present. Like dogs, cats or animals, they are not worried about the future or the past, they just live in the present. But as humans, we have plans, ideas and dreams, we can reach them but we can also avoid the pain in wich the majority of the humanity is into.

Healing processes, meditation and minfulness are extremely helpful to know ourselves from inside, and overcome ignorance as well, in order to see the vast majority of this universe, that many peolple can not understand, feel or see.

In brief, minfulness can help us to have a better life, be calm in stressing situations, reduce ignorance and pain and that is the reason why I choosed to practice it.
