RE: How to make the most of this human form of life – keep the goal in mind

That is true. A truth uncomfortable to many, but which is wise for us to take heed to and contemplate in a sober manner. ❤️

May I ask what specifically do you think the wisdom of the East helps more with as compared to Christianity? (was reading through your comments and was just curious).

The wisdom of the East is a few thousand years older, and the literature or sacred texts are massive, much more detail than the western scriptures. It talks in detail about the way to live our daily life, as well as subjects like compassion, which discourage animal slaughter. The concept that all life is sacred, all life has a spirit soul, not just humans, so all life needs to be respected. The western scriptures do not mention that at all. From what I have read in the past though, apparently the early Christian monks were vegetarian too,, but the western church has lost that important point because they do not know that there is a spirit soul in every form of life, animating the animal.
Then there are the yoga techniques that are a science. They teach one how to raise the consciousness, using breath control, meditation and literal methods to raise consciousness, lifting the kundalini energy from the base of the spine up to the crown chakra. They talk about prana or life energy all around us that we can tap into. The Vedas also talk about proper diet, what types of food are right for specific doshas or body types, and the other eastern traditions talk about chi, life energy for longevity. These are just mundane health benefits, but they all need to be considered when growing in spirit.
The Bible is very introductory compared to the advanced detail of the Vedas.
The concept of reincarnation was originally in the Bible but the early church fathers in 300AD or so, at the Council of Nicea, actually changed which books were to be considered scriptures. They took out the references on reincarnation. These are discussions of the afterlife that you will not find in any western Biblical message, unless you listen to Jesus, when he asked the disciples: "Who do they say I am?" and they replied "some say you re John, come back..." I'm paraphrasing, but the concept of reincarnation is alluded to there. So the modern Christian doctrine is watered down by the politically minded Catholic church of old to keep power over the people.
