"He opened their minds so they coul understand the scriptures", Luke 24:45. Exegesis, interpretation, analysis and commentary of the bible verse.

At the end of the Gospel of Luke, an action of Jesus is narrated: "He opened their minds so they coul understand the scriptures", Luke 24:45. This is the fulfillment of a promise: "Everyone will be salted with fire" Mark 9:49.
The understanding of the holy scriptures requires the use of the gift of knowledge. In practical terms the gift of knowledge is progressive thinking or ethical reasoning, but is much more.
Human reason is insufficient to reach the truth, the truth lies in the understanding of God teach to us Thomas Aquinas. We are participants in the truth through the gift of knowledge that is given along with the gift of wisdom and understanding, like the king Solomon who receive this gifts:
"At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon during the night in a dream, and God said, "Ask for whatever you want me to give you."
Solomon answered:... So give your servant a heart that knows how to listen, to judge your people, and to discern between good and evil...
So God said to him:...I will give you a wise and understanding heart"
1 Kings 3:5-12; 2 Chronicles 1:7-12.
The gifts of wisdom, understanding, and discernment are received together. The gift of wisdom is necessary to love God, the gift of knowledge (understanding heart) to grasp with the mind the meaning of the scriptures, and the gift of discernment to separate good from evil.
Opening intelligence also has another meaning, born again and receive the eternal life: "No one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again", John 3:3; "This is eternal life, that they may know you the only true God", John 17:3.
This fact of Jesus opening the intelligence can be confused because after this fact it is narrated: "I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high", Luke 24:49.

This special force is Pentecost, there is something in spirituality after opening intelligence, and that, is the opening of the third eye. In Pentecost all the gifts of the Holy Spirit are configured, and maybe the scriptures refers to this. With the opening of intelligence the wise appears, but with the opening of the third eye the oracle arises, and this is the last stage of the spiritual development.
