Study: 2/3 of Millennials Don’t Know What Auschwitz is

in #millennials6 years ago

A poll released on Holocaust Remembrance Day reveals a dangerous gap of knowledge among millennials. According to the poll, two-thirds of the millennials that were surveyed had no knowledge of what Auschwitz is. In 1940, the first prisoners arrived in the network of concentration camps set up in Nazi-controlled Germany and remain today one of the greatest attacks on humanity in our world’s history.

Yet the “punch a Nazi” generation seems to be completely unaware of the atrocities that were committed by real-life Nazis under the rule of Adolf Hitler, a man so vile in his actions that to compare him to any modern-day person because of slightly unpalatable speech is to belittle the horror of his actions.

This, however, is nothing that millennials are uncomfortable with. Leftist millennials are completely comfortable comparing politicians like Donald Trump and Pauline Hanson to Adolf Hitler because of speech they find unsavoury. Wherever you stand on the rhetoric of the aforementioned, the fact is that to compare them to Hitler is simply fallacious. The accusation of Nazism and Hitler-like characteristics reaches over politicians and spills into everyday citizens who disagree with the leftist utopian vision of the world.

The generation of social justice, never again, and Nazi punching is completely unaware of the premise that leads their misguided pedantic movement, and it’s condemnable.
