MSP12k and Self Discipline with respect to self voting
The Minnow Support Project is pleased to announce that our Discord group has reached 12,000 Steemians (msp12k!). We remove inactive members from our roster. So this number represents people that are actively coming into Discord to chat or use the community account. We're on track to hit 15,000 in late February or early March.
We're the largest Discord group of Steemians out there, and the largest off block community for Steem. It's a massive honor to have so many people that choose to visit us here. It's also a great responsibility that we take very seriously.
Self Voting
There's no shortage of whales self voting especially with SBD sitting in the $5 USD range. We view things differently. We think it's more important to share the wealth and help people all over the world enter crypto successfully and join the peaceful revolution. Decentralize all the things!
The above chart is a little misleading because it's not the actual number of votes that we have given as much as the number of different people that we vote. You can see over the last two weeks we have hit 5,232 people with an upvote from @minnowsupport. We've used it on @minnowsupport exactly zero times.
In terms of actual number of votes we're giving out roughly 2,000 per day and have hit as high as 3,000 votes in a single day!!! (We turn off the public account at times to recharge the VP, which is why it goes to 0 or has fewer votes)
Values and Mission
As a project we're here as a public service to spread the values of Peace, Abundance, and Liberty, train and retain minnows on the platform, and help Steem grow. We know that even small amounts of curation rewards keep users on the platform, and as a result we're able to grow the @minnowsupport account to over 12,000 followers, the PALnet Discord Channel to over 12,000 Steemians, and we know we're helping with retention on the platform. People stick around when they can earn even something small to start.
Over and over again we read "If it wasn't for Minnow Support I would have left Steem."
So Proud!
I just want to share how proud I am of this organization, the elected witnesses that manage it on a strategic level, and the Moderators that manage it on the day to day. We're proud of the community we've built, with people that call it home, we're an incubator for Steem projects, and one of the best curation and community projects on the entire blockchain.

Thank you SO much for MSP!!! To be honest, i'd probably be out of here without it...I find it very challenging to get any traction on steemit and at least with MSP there's a great active community that provides much needed support. So a HUGE kudos to the entire MSP team, love you all!!!
