Graduating Class of 2018 - It Don't Matter Where We Go We Always Find Our Way Back Home
On May 11, 2018 my only son graduated from high school. It is so surreal. I don't think it has really hit me yet. I'm so proud of him though.
At age 7 he was diagnosed as being on that autism spectrum. He has struggled through school, but always charged forward. He has never let autism slow him down. If he doesn't understand something he makes it his mission to understand it. He makes me so proud.

The day before graduation the graduates visited the elementary school and walked the hallways being applauded by the younger students.
The next day, like it or not, graduation commenced.

Our middle child, our daughter Jojo, plays in the school band. She was part of the kids who got to play Pomp and Circumstance for the graduates.

Isn't he so cute?! And handsome?! I'm so so so so proud of this boy. And soon he will be joining Steemit! He wants to be a writer and is going to use the platform to begin.

Our Toby, the Graduate
This is Toby and his friend Jordan with their Speech and Language teacher they had in elementary. She is one of the few people that really "got" Toby and has always been a person he could go to when he felt overwhelmed or anxious at school. Thank god for her.
Another of Toby's beloved special education teachers. She was his #1 go to in elementary. She got him interested in reading and now he wants to be a writer! She came from almost 2 hours away just to attend his graduation ceremony.

I have no idea
This is one of Toby's best friends, Jordan. When Jordan wanted to drop out of school at 16, Toby convinced him to stay and graduate with him.
A few days later we had a party for Toby. Friends and family gathered at our house and we celebrated the milestone.
A collage of Toby's childhood photos...all that I could find that is.
Toby invited 6 of his friends from school to come stay the night. They set up the gaming system and a TV on the back porch and stayed there all night. They even slept on the back porch. (Toby's room is much too small for 6 18-year-old boys.) I had to get up at one point and tell them to either shut up or go to bed because they were keeping me awake! Haha!
So that's it! Our Toby-woby-pudding-and-pie has graduated high school. Something his biological father couldn't even accomplish, which is part of what motivated him I think.
Thanks for stopping by!
Huge Congrats to you, and Toby, too! That is so exciting!
Wonderful story! Congratulations! Cool about 6 friends for an all night party on the porch. :))
Congrats Toby!! :) LOL at Jojo photobombing. She looks so mischievously cute in the second one!
We are so proud of your handsome, sweet, funny and intelligent boy! I can’t imagine how it feels to have a high school graduate! Love you guys ❤️
