A couple travels to Eastern Europe to visit a rural hometown's fabled Swedish mid-summer festival. What begins as an idyllic retreat quickly devolves into an increasingly violent and bizarre competition at the hands of a pagan cult.

Amazing movie!

  • The picture is very colorful, the film cannot be called gray. Even the background is worked out, which is distorted every time the heroes are under the influence of the "decoction".

  • The sound is also great! anxiety and apathetic state of the main character is perfectly indulged in only one soundtrack.

  • The plot is worked out perfectly (be sure to watch the director's version of the film, it is half an hour longer than the theatrical one and there you will find an explanation for some of the actions of the main characters)

I really liked this film. At first glance it may seem that this is an ordinary horror of the "wicker man" type. but looking at it again you immediately understand its full depth. A film about the suffering of one person, who only sank to the very bottom could push off and swim out. A movie about salvation if it's more convenient for you)

In general, if you are looking for an author's movie with an incredibly beautiful and attractive picture, then I advise you to put the kettle on, make tea and enjoy this 3-hour masterpiece!
