I completely realize it isn't simple when starting out...but a few things will make your videos 5x better.
Lighting,
Position (angle, closeness, height)
Audio(either dubb naration over, or appropriate music)
(And bonus..switch between views. Side view to off side front.)
We have been able to add a bit of spice to our videos using the iPhone5s and the YouTube Capture app.
