Ignorance from Hamas supporters.
In engagement with Hamas supporters, three particular areas of ignorance have appeared to me to be common.
The Middle East has not always been Arabic, and most of the neighbors of ancient Israel were not Arabs.
Hamas is not a progressive anti-colonial movement, but a conservative religious authoritarian political party that refuses to hold elections and actively denies women's and LGBTQ+ rights.
Arabs in Israel, although not fully equal citizens (despite what many supporters of Israel say) have more civil and political rights than Arabs in any Arabic state.
