Daniel Buchner, senior product manager for #Microsoft's #Decentralized #Identity unit , shared an important piece of information involving the leading cryptocurrency Bitcoin (BTC). Buchner admitted that they officially commissioned the ION, decentralized identity management service on the Bitcoin main network.

🚨Microsoft Chooses Bitcoin Network

➡️The platform implemented in the Bitcoin network will work as a second layer solution and will support decentralized public switch infrastructure ( #DIDs / #DPKI). According to the information in the #GitHub library, the project was launched four years ago. However, in the post shared by the project founder, it is emphasized that the foundation of this project was laid with the idea 10 years ago. The aim of the project is to give individuals and organizations full control over their digital identities. ION uses the Sidetree protocol for operations on the network.

Each transaction done on the platform is encrypted with a special hash that enables ION nodes to categorize, store, process and capture data and transactions related to the respective decentralized identity. In his statement on the subject, Buchner emphasized that the Bitcoin main network is the safest in this regard.

🚨"The Safest Network"

➡️Stating that #ION does not trust central institutions and should be completely decentralized, Buchner stated that the Bitcoin network was chosen precisely for this reason. In this context, Buchner also emphasized that as more network nodes are operated, the network will be more decentralized and stronger, perhaps contributing to the rise of the Bitcoin price .
