    Wow, nicely done, @tristancarax. I'm so glad you took the challenge to start with a freewrite piece and polish it for the contest! What fun! I love the drama of this piece, and the world-building that went into it. Great twist at the end, too.

      Excellent microfiction! Everything you need in a story from captivating beginning to action in the middle to the satisfying ending. Hard to do in 250 words!
