“Not Cologne. Koeln. Koeln.” Patricia stared at Matthias as she tried to get it right.
The laughter was bubbling up behind his mouth and nose and eyes. It did not sound right. The more she tried, the worse it sounded. The laughter exploded out of him. Patricia joined right in.
The guffaws turned to chuckles turned to sighs.
“Don’t go back.” Patricia still stared. Her stares were demanding and Matthias wanted to acquiesce, but his tourist visa was up.
“Come with me.” He tried to mirror her stare.
She smiled and relaxed. “I was wondering when you’d think of that.”
