Stitch by stitch

Maria dreamed of studying chemistry like her siblings, but in 1960 it was difficult, convincing her father was going to be a titanic task, especially being between six brothers.

-They are going to maintain a family, you better will study sewing, so you can help yourself if your husband become bad person- his father told her.

She had no choice but to do what his father told her, at first he only made patches, but several years later she even made wedding dresses.

The eldest of his brothers was barely halfway through the race when his father died,

-Mother, now you are going to be my apprentice, to take the family forward- Maria said to her mother.

Both women went to work together, stitch by stitch managed to give studies to all. At the graduation of the youngest Maria told her mother:

-After all dad guessed right- and she sighed proudly.

Kind of bitter somehow... the boys should work for their own study and take care

I like Maria’s positive attitude. That makes for a happy ending. 😁
