History a Manipulated Tale?????
History is always written by the WINNERS. When two cultures clash, the LOSER is obliterated, and the winner writes the history books-books which glorify their own cause and disparage the conquered foe.
As Napoleon once said, "What is history, but a fable agreed upon?"
Starting from TEXTBOOKS that we are supposed to follow since childhood days to GREAT VOLUMES published over time are all MANIPULATED tales of the winners over the losers.
I put forward some examples ranging from science to history to politics to general knowledge and if curious you will proceed to find many more.
Edison(Thomas Alva Edison) didn't invent the bulb(incandescent light bulb). It was Nicolas Tesla. Infact most of his inventions are stolen from contemporary scientists of the time... all because of his power and influence.
Taj Mahal is seen as a symbol of Love(the reality is far from that) along with glorifying the Mughals in our textbooks instead of our own culture.
Most of the quotes published in the textbooks or even anywhere else are hardly from the person referred to. E.g., "An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" was never quoted by Gandhi but by Ben Kingsley in the famous 1982 Oscar winning movie named "Gandhi".
India didn't get independence just because the British was suppressed by our freedom movement. There are various factors responsible for that but those are never taught as it serves to the glory of few houses.
Infact there are books detailing actual events of our struggle for independence that have been banned and disposed off by the government...all the same to maintain the glory of houses in power.
Education with wrong knowledge is deadly... not individually but at large to the society.
Not all FACTS are TRUTH. Not all TRUTH are FACTS.
BREAK YOURSELF from the barriers of CONTAINED EDUCATION and seek what's meant to be known.
