Del Potro takes OUT Tim from Mexico Open 2018

Argentinian Juan Martin Del Potro defeated Austrian Dominique Tim of the quarter-finals of the Mexico Open at Acapulco, 500 points, to beat Alexander Zverev in the semi-finals after his easy win over Ryan Harrison.

Del Potro, the ninth in the world, eliminated Tim, sixth in the world, from the solid tournament with a 6-2, 7-6 (9-7) win after a strong match to reach the semifinals for the first time in his career.

The Argentinian starred in the first set, which was easily settled for him, but his low performance led to the break of the tiebreaker "Tai Break" to settle the game.

"It was a strong match, I feel exhausted, but I'll have a rest day," said Del Potro after the match. "It's my first semi-final at Acapulco and I'm very excited."
