Also, thanks for filling me in on the term "meshnet." I love the concept, but I do worry that TPTB can find out how to shut down ANYTHING they want, with enough of our tax dollars and enough time.
I think this type of internet is almost bullet proof .. But yes shutting down the grid world wide woild do it ..lol..
Right...and they may just become that desperate at some point.
Truly would not be supprised ... But its a great off grid system ..our local ham club has a local off grid meshnet built for our emergency communications sysyem .. You likely have one in your area ..The powers that be and the ham operators are the only ones with access to it though .. So its time for a public one ..
I have 400 people within a 10-mile radius, so, I'm in a little bit of a different environment here than NYC.
Anything done "for the public" can and will probably eventually be hacked by TPTB, but that doesn't mean we still shouldn't try!
Its may be imposible to track a meshnet as it is entirely decentralised .. And the infomation takes the shortest route .. If you are sending it accross town it might only go through a couple nodes ..its a really secure system ..but they will try ..
Indeed... Probably not as easy as tacking a HAM, but they have UNBELIEVABLE RESOURCES...many of which we've probably even know idea.
True but the internet as it is ...is one of there biggest weapons in that arsonal on top of us funding it for them by making us pay for it and there insane proffits ..building a free internet we do not have to pay for and they cant control will be a real kick in the teeth ..and put a crypto on it they cant track ..ouch .. Icing on the cake ..
