Hello Steemit Friends! Here’s my entry for this weeks “MERMAID MONDAY CONTEST 28 - THEME : WHAT KIND OF MERMAID ARE YOU ?”
So this little artist mermaid and what she is doing most definitely depicts the inner me. I absolutely love to create artwork, It brings me much joy and happiness. I also love to sing, dance, talk to others, laugh, and praise the Lord, as much as I possibly can, this is who I am .
If your wondering where this little mermaid got these oil paints I will tell you the story, and I’ll try to keep it short. One night there was a terrible storm that made the ocean toss and turn ever so violently. This mermaid happened to be swimming near the shoreline of the Hawaiian islands, when a mighty storm with heavy winds and rain struck the area very quickly. A strong current pushed the mermaid up against some jagged rocks, and she hit her head, almost knocking her unconscious. Carefully, In pain and confusion, she crawled up the large stones, which jetted out above the water, the best she could. She needed to get some air from time to time, like a porpoise needs air, in the same way. She hung tightly onto the rocks, not wanting to let them go, in fear that she would be pushed up against them again, and the next time she may not be as lucky to survive the blow. She felt her self becoming weaker and weaker by the minute, then finally, with her last gasp, she yelled for help as she slowly started to slip down into the ocean. Suddenly a strong arm grabbed her around her body and neck, and pulled her to shore, a sailor on leave had heard her cry, and rescued her. Oh how surprised he was to find this lovely damsel in distress, was a beautiful mermaid. They fell in love, the sailor swore to her that he would tell no one else about her, in order to keep her safe from harm. They meet with each other at a secret cove, where the sailor can come to her by boat. He always brings her wonderful gifts ❣️
Last week I drew the sailor and the mermaid ( even though the mermaid looks different) being rescued. The drawing has a story that goes along with it, that ties together with this one. It’s same event, except it talks about him, and what he was doing on the beach, before he saved her.

Here is a link to last weeks drawing and story if you are interested.
