Why the fuck should you watch “Casino Royale”?
• You want to find out why it's ok to gamble with public money, shoot people at embassies and make out with married women.
• You want to learn to take huge risks without dying, talk suave one liners, fight like a man (or female, no discrimination!) and survive from poisoning.
• Because Mads - mother fukin bad ass - Mikkelsen vs. Daniel - "I'm about to get nekked... back here. No peeking" - Craig! (watch “Logan Lucky” too, then you know)
• Because we know that every time you wear a fancy suit and look into a mirror you say, "my name is Bond, James Bond".
Now that the world is anticipating the post-Brexit Bond 25 with moderate excitement after the director drama last year that ended with the maestro Danny Boyle bailing off due to "creative differences", we decided to revisit the film that introduced us Daniel Craig's muscles (which aren't that impressive anymore when compared to superheroes of today, surprisingly). And the revisit reminds how good and welcomed the reinvention of Bond was.
Want to see Bond doing hypermasculine stuff that puts him and others to danger but serve the greater good at end? Want to see brutal action, true emotions and Bond killing people without any hesitation and almost dying a few times without any fear? Look no further, because "Casino Royale" re-launched the James Bond character as troubled, cold, ironic, shilling and complex character 12 years ago and made the franchise relevant again.
Of course there are some sloppy shit reminding that the film was made 12 years ago, from a few ugly lookin' visuals to annoying mansplaining.. aaand these:
But the high stakes action spy movie offers some awesome practical stunts (ok, not compared to Tom Cruise, but come on, Tom is the king), male charm and international Bond coolness, which feels somehow still relevant. Go watch this and then skip "Quantum of Solace", continue with the awesome "Skyfall", don't touch "Spectre" and then wish that they won't fuck up the next one.
Why the fuck you shouldn’t watch “Casino Royale"?
• You think that Bond is an egoistic, misogynist twat and aren't ready to think otherwise.
• It is basically Poker night with Bond for a quite a while and that sounds annoying for you.
• You are too drunk to shake and you have ended up stirring something else... eeem.
• The Bond franchise died for you when The great Sean Connery retired from the role.
