World War II memorandum Chittagong War Cemetery: A silent witness in history

World War II has created a deep wound in the world. In order to influence the world's strong nations against each other, what has endured humanity. Hiroshima-Nagasaki still can not overcome the wounds of the second world war. Even today, they are going through with nuclear bomb injuries. Although there is no major impact on the Indian subcontinent and Bangladesh in the second world war, but there is a place in memory of World War II in our country. Although no war of World War II is organized in Bangladesh In the second world war, hundreds of dead fighters have been buried in Bangladesh. The graves of these fighters killed in World War II are in two cemeteries or symmetry in Bangladesh. One of the two symmetries of World War II in Comilla and another is located in Chittagong. Chittagong's War Cemetery is much larger than Comilla.

Chittagong War Cemetery's another name is Chittagong Commonwealth War Cemetery. It is basically a tomb constructed by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. This cemetery was established by the British army after World War II, organized from 1939 to 1945. During World War II, The 14th Infantry Force of the British Army took training in Chittagong and started the 152nd General Hospital for the treatment of injured soldiers in the war. The activities of this hospital were started from December 1944 to October 1945. A total of 400 fighter were buried here who are died in the condition of treatment of this hospital or died in the battlefield. Majority of them were buried and the army who were killed in the battle of Lussai hills in Assam's Seven Sisters of neighboring India. The purpose of this Cemetery was to honor the soldiers who were killed in World War II. After the end of World War II, the dead body of the soldiers who were killed in World War II was buried with the death of many more temporary cemetery in this war symmetry. Among the temporary cemeteries, the Chittagong Civil Cemetery, Chandraghona Baptist Mission Cemetery, Chiriga Military Cemetery, Cox's Bazar New Military and Civil Cemetery, Chittagong Burial Ground, Dhaka Military Cemetery, Demagiri Cemetery, Dhuapolong Muslim Burial Ground, Dhuapolong Christian Military Cemetery, Dohazari Military Symmetry, Jessore Protesta Nut Cemetery, Khulna Cemetery, Langleh Cemetery (Assam), Nayapara Cemetery (Assam), Patiya Cemetery, Rangamati Cemetery, Tejgaon Roman Catholic Cemetery, Tumrughat Military Cemetery etc.

This War Cemetery is surrounded by various types of jungle trees, fruit trees and flowers of different types. From this gate of the famous War Cemetery, there is a narrow road made through the graves. In addition to 755 burials, after the entry of War Cemetery, 400 sailors of Indian Navy and 6000 sailors of Indian trade ships have been recorded in the World War II, who died drowning in the Bay of Bengal during World War II.
