The genetic dilution of our youth.

       This thought was inspired by the memes which contrast how young men in the past stormed into battle and how today's youth are too sensitive. Tens of millions of lives were lost in WWII. At the time the combatants were comprised of our healthiest, strongest and most fearless individuals. Many were young. Many did not yet have the opportunity to reproduce. Many never did reproduce due to the ultimate consequence of war, death. 

What are the repercussions? Our species underwent the largest genetic cleansing in history. Certain traits appear less in subsequent generations due to this process. This process of the removal of healthy humans predisposed to violence from the gene pool has left us, for better or for worse, as a more docile species. I'm not here to pass a moral judgement. I'm not suggesting that wars have been a conspiracy to make humans less violent or weaker. But the fact of the matter is a significant impact has occurred to our genetic diversity due to the casualties of war. 

This is not restricted to WWII. This is true of all wars. According to Wikipedia there has been somewhere between 315,253,223–754,758,805 casualties resulting from war. Charles Darwin's ideas are not infallible. However, what he has taught us indicates that there would most likely be some sort of palpable consequences to this type of interference in the procreation of our species. 

My point is that maybe there wouldn't be so many pussies if all the tough guys of the past were spared in order to have and raise children. An additional point: It may be in our species best interest to strive towards being less violent. P.S. The majority of the most catastrophic wars occurred in Asia, China in particular.
