My first date - daily memento

A few years a local Irish television company made a documentary called 'Going to the Pictures' and I volunteered to tell my story. I had been asked out by this lovely chap called Ian and we went to see a film. Half way through the film he decided to try and subtly put his arm around my shoulder but he misjudged the distance and managed to clock my ear with his elbow instead. Needless to say it was all very embarrassing but happily while it happened on the first date, we did manage a second. In fact, we had a lovely summer of romance - but I will never forget that inauspicious beginning.
