I was hoping that they would do very well so all the naysayers would stop with the whole "he's not the best until he wins a world cup" nonsense. he has proved for years now that he is the best that was, so what has he got left to prove??

Sure thing. I think thats why the loss to Croatia hit the country and world so hard. They should be competitive with anyone.
Coaching is the problem I believe, but in sport it could also be a million things that are putting the players off their best game....from politics to coaching
