My first (and probably last) entry into this week's meme challenge is inspired by the rise of SBDs, and the insanely discounted price you can get STEEM for in the internal market.

Why You Shouldn't Power Up Right Now
Is it just me, or is powering up posts a really bad idea right now?
Let's take my most recent post payout as an example:
I got 2.437 SP,
And
3.471 in SBDs.
2.4 Steem Power is pretty nice, but look at how much more STEEM I was able to buy with the SBD rewards: 11.688!. That's around 5X as much STEEM! (4.79 times as much to be precise).
This makes me think that anyone using the Power Up option on their posts right now is missing out.
Big time!
SBDs are still trading far higher than normal, and while the price of steem is also up; it isn't enough to counteract it in the eternal market. STEEM is available there for 29c right about now!
(It could be higher or lower as I type this out).
So, if you want to get maximum STEEM while the going's good? I'd suggest setting your posts to the 50/50% option, and avoid powering up at the moment.
P.S. This is just my opinion, and things could change by this time next week. Who knows?
