It's true... but at the same time it can become much lower than it is now... you see, STEEM value depends on many factors including: the the number of steemit users. the value of the articles on steemit (the more valuable steemit exclusive articles are the more STEEM potential value becomes). and also the percentage of users who keep their SP and don't power down as SP is what keeps steemit website running.
At least that's what I heard.
Oh!! steemit also is a crypto currency so its value is expected to always grow because the other alternative is becoming worhtless because if the price isn't high enough it won't suffice all the users if steemit had about half the amount of Facebook users.
So many expect STEEM value to be at least $10.. even $50 in the long term!!
