Hello,

This is a person is a uninformed Newbie I just started onboarding last week,
I just showed him the system.

He did not know to keep bidding to a reasonable level.

He wanted to be able to turn his liquid steem to steem power without just dumping it in.
So he thought just do some upvotes.

I have explained to him that this practice has to go along with quaility content.

It is blatently unfair for you to be down voting a new person directly, without at least warning him first!

I HAVE SPOKEN TO HIM AND TOLD HIM WHAT TO DO IN THE FUTURE!

STOP BEING BULLIES!

This type of action is what drives new users away from the platform when you villify someone and ban them for a small difference in opinion.

I personally vouch for Dave, he is currently serving in the US Military and Looking to supplement his income to help his family, His father Peter is @mustang88 and has been an upstanding citizen and helper in our group for about a year.

BTW this is not a Spam Meme, it is an entry to one of the most long running contests on steem @fibra's memechallenge, if this is spam what do you call CONTEST KINGS which promotes NOTHING BUT STEEM MONSTERS CARDS AND ACTIFIT MOST OF THE TIME?

Even that said, he will modify his behavior.

That was the best part of your reply. I see you gave yourself a big juicy comment up-vote, while sending retaliatory flags to all of us... nice.

May have we'll have given himself a nice pat on the back while he was at it. Smh

So just teach your friend that flags are part of the system

Posts are open for 7 days...

During that time you can receive both upvote and downvotes.

Whatever is left is what you get to keep.

It's fine. I hope he keeps posting, there is no reason he should assume he can use every vote bot and no one else should respond. It is his job to research before making such an assumption.

@rixhatvns, this is NOT the first time one of your contestants has bid bot abused. I gave the first one a warning a while back, @cyrus33.

Understand that a warning is a courtesy that is sometimes afforded but we are, by no means, obligated to do so.

The post is overvalued significantly and thus subject to flags for bid bot abuse. If you dispute that, you are being disingenuous. This is about integrity in curation and there was a breach.

I've had my eye on your contests @richatvns and I gave you a warning earlier about contest spam. We don't want to see it anymore. Requiring upvotes to enter a contest is considered abuse.

That's not merely my definition but any reasonable person readily see that as a manipulative tactic. It's also the position of Steemit Inc per their FAQ.

Now, as for your pal here, the penalty for bid bot abuse is negative ROI. People need to KNOW as well as SEE that this is not the path to success on this platform.

There is no stipulation for not over boosting your contest entries. The only thing you mention is plagiarism and note that IS NOT why we are flagging this content.

You bear responsibility for this. What I recommend is to remove the spammy elements of your contest, add a caveat about excessive bidding and all will be gravy.

If they are good memes, hell, I'll give em an upvote.

Hope you understand as I am sick and tired of vote manipulation via bots and my threshold for patience is low. If it were maybe $50, I would have been inclined to warn, but this was just gross overvaluation.

He should be ashamed and so should you for supporting it.

I just reread your message, let me get this straight you gave Stephen a warning when he made a mistake (in your eyes). And he modified his behavior!

Yet you thought it ok to rip into a new person the platform with no warning?

You just proved my point!

You need a set of published rules, and specific set of actions, which includes steps and full disclosure...

Because right now you just proved your a lynch mob....

Here's another olive branch...

I will even help you come up with guidelines, and rules.. get Published and bot distributes it...So every new user on the platform gets a warning message when they sign up.

And I'm sure Matt @yabapmatt would also put it on SteemBotTracker if it's what the community agrees to, he's a rightous dude!

I've done it rules of operation, enough times for mine and other businesses.

If someone buys votes, expect flags. That is how the system works, and how the community responds to behavior. It isn't bullying to say, "No, that is inappropriate," especially when accompanied by an explanatory comment describing why the flag was applied.

Steem Flag Rewards mention comment has been approved for flagger beneficiary post rewards! Thank you for reporting this abuse, @nathen007.

  • bid bot abuse
You bought votes to increase the rewards of your post above the value of its content.
  • spam
You are repetitively posting the same content or recyling contents after a period of time.

Bid botting a meme to over $150? Well that wasn't very smart. ( ͡° ʖ̯ ͡°)
