Brent Spiner at MegaCon 2017

Brent Spiner, though best known for his role as Data in Star Trek: The Next Generation, has had a long and varied acting career in movies, TV and theater. His only starring movie role came in 1984 in the movie 'Rent Control'. His other most visible role (though a relatively small one) was probably as Dr. Brackish Okun in the two Independence Day movies.

Though a fairly regular TV guest star over the years, I've always been a little surprised Brent Spiner has not had some more major roles. In my (albeit non-professional) opinion, he is a very good actor capable of a wide variety of roles. Check out Wikipedia or IMDB for a list of his guest roles in various tv series and you will see plenty of examples.

Brent Spiner also makes appearances at conventions. I saw him a few years back at MegaCon with other members of the Next Generation cast and they were hysterical together. This year he was on his own when I saw him. Still interesting and entertaining but I think even he has more fun when some of the others are there. They also cut is panel short this year though I have no idea why.
