Steemit Harvest Festival Meetup and Gathering

Last night the Steemit Community of Teammalaysia Sabah held its first ever Kaamatan or Harvest Festival Meetup and Gathering. The event was initially the idea of @danieldoughty and @melindajamulis during our meetup at Starbuck City Mall back in March this year. When they told us their plan on how they imagined the gathering will be, everyone got excited especially @viverridae when they came up with an idea to play Gin Rummy too, LOL. So, @melindajamulis, @arwine, @verasj and I was given the responsibility to make it happen.

The programme of the night started with a short welcoming speech from our Steem Ambassador @danieldoughty, and after that, I was ushered by @melindajamulis to give a welcoming speech as well, even though it was supposed to be her duty as the host, maybe she was a bit shy to speak in public, LOL. But, it was a great honor to be given a chance to speak in front of my fellow Steemians, thanking them for spending their valuable times to join the meetup, to have fun together and get to know other Steemians in person.

The gathering was held at JL Kivatu Cafe & Restaurant, an open-air restaurant owned by my parents, and they gladly gave us their permission to use it without any charges. My brother who worked at the restaurant, helped me to prepare the foods and the rest of us the organizers did the other arrangements. The event was held in high spirits, laughter and filled with fun activities. It was a great joy to see the happy faces of all who came that night, for us the organizers it was a huge relief to finally fulfill the duties that have been assigned to us.

Hopefully, we will be able to organize this event bigger and even better next year with more fun activities including the Unduk Ngadau (Steemit Harvest Queen) - @danieldoughty punya idea....
