This Is To See Who Can Come To A Meetup In The Buffalo, NY Area

All Are Welcome!

There is no official time or location set up, but I believe it is time to get some great minds in the northeastern part of the US together for some brainstorming and fun

Suggestions for location can be made in the comment section along with any specific topics that attendees may wish to cover. If people who do have an interest can comment with times that work best for them to meet, that will help us select a time that shall work for the most people to get together.

Possible Topics / Conversations To Get The Ball Rolling:

  • Any tips we feel may help new users, or suggestions that would help people get started
  • Projects we can collaborate on
  • What each attendee is skilled in, so as to better know how we can work together
  • I feel each person should have a chance to share what they like and dislike about steemit, and what they hope to get/give out of the platform
  • It'd be nice if people came prepared with their own questions and things that maybe we could as a local community work together on
  • I understand some people are shy and talking does not come naturally, but Steemit is one of the most accepting groups, so it will benefit all if you can effectively communicate and prepare a few thoughts and ideas in advance to contribute
  • Time is a finite commodity, so while we should be having fun getting to know one another, we want to make the most of this time and bring value to steemit as well as to each other

Event planning is not really my biggest strength (I'm more of a creative thinker than a planner), but I'm happy to work with, or put this together myself if need be. If you know of anyone in the Western New York area or that is willing to travel a few hours to get there, please invite them.

I hope that there are a good number of people interested, but even if it's only a few, I believe this will be a great chance to meet in person some great people who may be brand new, or on steemit for quite a while. Everyone has a story and a dream and steemit has given all a venue to share and pursue what you are most passionate about.

Let's discuss in the comment section and I will make a follow up post with the details of my findings and hope to make this a monthly gathering that could take place in Buffalo, Rochester or other areas that may be central or closer to others.

Also feel free to message me on steemit chat (bendjmiller222 or via email [email protected]) if you need to reach out for more information or to discuss anything further.

Good idea!
I just organized and hosted the FIRST Steemit Meetup in Fort Worth Texas last weekend. I have another one set up this coming weekend. They are a lot of fun and great for building the Steemit Community!
Here is a post from the one I just did.

Awesome! Pretty much anyone interested in attending is going to be cool. No trolls would go to a meetup like this and the responsible people will make the time or talk with those who have gone. Steemit joins people together regardless of walk of life or status or physical appearance.

I want to take steemit to the next level in my area and keep pushing this movement forward. The right people are behind this project and not people solely focused on the bottom line. This truly is a family-like community when all is said and done.

Good stuff. I'm going to put together a Phoenix meetup soon. I'm thinking mine will be something casual - a small group of people meeting up for happy hour, making friends, and talking (mostly) Steemit.

Yes. I think building friendships in person is extremely important in this day and age of almost entirely digital communication. And something fun that as a collective group we could decide on doing. Whether a sort of team building or escape room or something fun and also get down to business and use steemit as the tool that it is to help others and ourselves.

Steemit will become more valuable with more collaboration and more people joining and engaging. That then opens up bigger investments and advertising dollars since more eyes will be on content that we create. And pretty much every social media that is ad monetized is looking for "where are the most eyes looking" and then rewarding that section or person with money in exchange for their product or service being seen by more people (if that is the direction steemit opts for, which I believe would be quite smart if the ads were still non intrusive and maybe even paid for watching them or learning about products).

Hope that work...
