💝 Making Mindfulness Meditation Work For You – The Noble Eightfold Path Part 10 – Ethics, Compassion and Wisdom 💝
The path of Buddhism also known as The Middle Way rejected the extreme methods that were in fashion at the time the Buddha lived about 2500 years ago such as starvation, complete renunciation of material needs and isolation. Balance in all things inner and outer was discovered to be a superior method and that without it enlightenment was not likely to occur due to the fact that without balance in physical, emotional and spiritual health the human being would not have the strength and fortitude to be the temple that enlightenment would be able to be realized and leading to ultimate wisdom. Wisdom at this phase has two parts Right Thought and Right Understanding.

The Middle Way
Was we have already seen the Right Thought and Right Understanding elements here and here what is happening now as a result of our effort we realize Right Thought and Right Understanding. We ordinarily think of as understanding is an intellectual grasping of something according to certain data presented or compiled memory. Buddhism calls this anubodha and it is a superficial type of perception and not at all deep. Deep real understanding according to the ones that have gone before us is called pativedha or “penetration.” It is seeing things as its true nature without labeling it or naming it. This penetration is only available to us when we free our minds from all tainted elements from our previous un-awakened state and are developed fully through meditation.
The Four Noble Truths explain things as they really are and Right Understanding is the direct knowing of these truths. As a result of practicing Right Thought thoughts of love and non-violence and extend these thoughts to all beings we cultivate the conditions for true wisdom to arise. We then clearly see that these noble qualities are endowments of true wisdom and that all thoughts of self centered desire, hatred, violence and ill-will are all a result of absence of wisdom in all aspects of human life no matter – individual , social and political.

Conclusion
I hope that this has inspired you to look deeper into these ideas, practices and methods and perhaps given you a deeper understanding what is required for true peace and harmony within ourselves, others and in this life we are collectively creating on this planet. This is only the beginning of this beautiful journey and I’m looking forward to the next steps to wisdom and peace. I hope you will join me.

There is really so many benefits of meditation @soulsistashakti! It boggles my mind has beneficial it is. Our mindset, controlling our mind and knowing how our whole system works is the key to so many success.
Love your posts and hope you have a wonderful weekend!
You too dear friend and I hope you are keeping warm! :)
Doing my best! Have to head out now, gonna bundle up! :D
I have been meditating for a year now. Recently even started meditating twice a day. Even though a year can sound like a lot of time for many people, I still feel like I've only started my journey, because attaining all those deep understandings and "penetration" is not something that comes fast and easily. But I love meditating and I would never stop doing it. I really enjoy meditation philosophy!
I hope you can go take a look at the other posts in this series as this is the last one. They are not overly long and will give you a good structure and details as to causes and conditions necessary for the penetration to arise :) Thank you for reading and commenting dear friend.
Oh I will definitely check them out, cuz I'm always interested reading anything related to meditation!
The more I explore this life gig, the more I realize my desires for balance. This, of course comes about as I move through various extremes. It seems the extremes are useful in that they show you the way towards balance (if you're looking for it).
Great post here @soulsistashakti! I'd love to hear your thoughts on my two minute thought experiment. It definitely exists in the realm of "Right Thoughts": [INTERACTIVE INSPIRATION EXPERIMENT] Could You Feel Better In 2 Minutes? Find Out Now!
Yes it can be a kind of grace that comes out of learning that extremes ultimately are part of the journey and that balance is the way.
Good job on the practice you posted I commented there :)
it has been a wonderful sharing soulsitashakti👍
Thank you
Thank you for your wise words. Some real substance to reflect on here, I will check out other posts... Your work is really legit ! Am grateful.
Thank you my friend because it means so much more with you guys! xoxo
i love your spiritual direction. We need to move toward compassion and love. Compassion and love is the equivalent of taking the "red pill" in the movie The Matrix. We are forced to "wake up".
So true. Thank you for adding to the conversation :)
I'm completely unable to practice meditation. I've tried several times but unsuccessfully. On the other hand, I am quite zen even without it. I say to my friends that practice it that I'm more zen than them, lol.
My son is also a musician. I'm proud of him!
Following you, sweetie!
Thank you :) I couldn't for a long time and wondered if there was something wrong with me. Then I learned 2 things
a) A lot of people with PTSD cannot tolerate sitting with their eyes closed (I have severe PTSD for many, many years)
b) Eyes open is the way for many methods (and almost all are open OR closed).
I read a book called Radiant Mind, followed the very simple instruction for "just sitting" and my consciousness was blown out of this dimension. I also began healing from PTSD very rapidly after that. I am eternally grateful.
Is your son on Steemit?
Will try to check it out, then. Maybe I have PTSD too...?
My son isn't on Steemit, he will be soon, eventually :)).
Thanks so much for your reply!

What an enjoyable read.
The more I learn about the nature of reality and creation, the more I realize that the journey will never end, it is always unfolding, in the new levels, and new unmapped forms.
Thank you my friend I really appreciate it and it is means everything to be shared.
