Are You Ready to Get Your OM On?

Obviously, there are as many ways to meditate as there are benefits from doing it, but I have to say, Rodger’s example is something anyone can follow, regardless of their species 😉

Rodger’s Daily OM 🕉️

  1. Find a sunny spot and get into a comfortable position
  2. Soften your gaze or close your eyes
  3. Breathe
  4. Don’t move unless someone offers you a treat 🍪

Truly, meditating IS that simple! Far too often we humans want to complicate things, it’s not our fault, it has to do with the way we have been 'programmed'. You know, ‘no pain no gain’. But it doesn’t have to be that way!

The benefits of daily meditation are so great that if you aren’t doing it already, I strongly encourage you to start!

According to The Chopra Center the 3 Main Reasons to Meditate are
It’s Good for Our Bodies
It’s Good for Our Relationships
It Can Change Our Lives

I don’t know about you, but for ME, I want all of those things! This is why we make daily meditation a priority in our lives.

Living in Sedona we are surrounded by many ideal Meditation Locations and I will be sharing several of those in upcoming posts.

This photo was taken at Amitabha Stupa & Peace Park, we used to live just a block from there, so we went there almost daily.

YES, that's My Sweetie peeking from behind the Buddha 🙄 But actually, his ‘photobomb’ is perfect for this post! Because you see, sometimes the fastest way to ‘Enlightenment’ is simply to LIGHTEN UP! 😊

My Sweetie played a BIG role in helping me do that over the years, my ‘programming’ was quite deep. But the good news is that I have learned so much about how to turn all of that around, and I am here to share with you all the things I have learned on my way to discovering that – Life is so easy!

Do you meditate daily? Do you have a specific 'way' that has benefitted you most? I would LOVE to hear about it!

Also, if you enjoyed this post and would like to follow me along on this journey I would truly appreciate that!

When I started meditating some years ago, it was most helpful for me to really actively "suppress" my noisy thoughts. There are also many who praise the method of simply letting them flow trough us without attachment to them, but for the beginning it was best for me to actively have the willingness to create mental Silence by suppressing my thoughts. Over time, once my mind was more silent in the long-term, I added the method of letting them flow through without attachment, and in doing so actively my mind became more silent as well.

From my point of view the actual term "meditation" means taking the effort of clearing the mind actively without doing anything else meanwhile. Breathing as you said.

Yet nowadays the term "meditation" is also a bit misused to describe anything that allows us to detach from "daily life" and allows us to be in the Now.
And then again I found this term also to be circulating in any 3D based institution, to describe the pondering of problems. " I suggest you meditate on this issue", as I have heard often.

So basically many use this term on a whim, yet the actual meaning is the one you describe here from my viewpoint at least :) like your dog!

Being able to actually clear your mind in the beginning was a huge accomplishment! I can't even imagine beginning that way 😮 If you have specific techniques or ways that you were able to do that I'll bet a lot of people would love to learn from you!

I appreciate our interactions! 🧘‍♀️

You make a good point @alexaventuria about the 3D based institution, and yes, the 'mainstream' can dilute things to the point that they lose much of their original impact, but I do believe this allows more people to be introduced to information or a practice that they otherwise wouldn't be. Yoga is a perfect example of this! The purpose yoga has nothing to do with helping people fit into skinny jeans 😉

It is my hope that those who are hungry for more will seek out more authentic forms of whatever experience they were exposed to.

Clearing my mind, as I said, means for me to actively stop thinking and suppress any incoming thought. This was necessary for me in the beginning because my mind was too chattery to simply stop it. For me, this was the way out of outdated thought patterns and after some time I released them in the dream state. Whenever I released the thoughts' energetic essence in the dream state, I woke up shortly afterwards and felt the physical release, I literally felt how my body releases density and became lighter..step for step more :)

Thank you for bringing meditation to such a simple understanding. It’s such a profound practice that it can get complicated trying to explain! I also write on meditation, feel free to check out my blog for some techniques. Also clicking around my followed list will lead you to many great meditation writers here on Steemit. Best!

Thank you @jspots for the tips! I will follow you for sure, as well as seek out others who are in alignment with me. I am excited to connect with more like-minded people here on steemit 💙

I forgot about that picture. Me with Buddha, what bliss...

Yes, that was a couple of years ago, may be time to visit him again!
