Meditation: Sept 12, 2017. The mystery of harmony and unity.

in #meditation7 years ago

Our relationship with all of Creation is a mystery. Each life reflects all life.

Relationships define life. When you watch a movie -- the action and adventure, the events or mysteries, the victims and heroes and villians -- it's all relationships.

In a book, long passages describing locations or objects are often skimmed or skipped over. To the reader, those details seem less significant except in how it "relates" to his life, or what is "related" to the characters in the novel.

The word relate is a symbol of a concept. Those who relate to one another are not limited to only converse or correspond together, but to give and take, share and withhold, come together and be apart. It is a vibrant and non-static RELATIONSHIP.

So we learn from relationships. And whatever your religious beliefs, you are in relationships with others. You are in relationships with all of the world and with nature.

If you begin with the idea that the world is created, or with the idea that we came from spirit, or simply believing that nature is in harmony (even though man is not), certain conclusions are unavoidable. Each and every one of us can be more or less in harmony with others.

For instance, someone might experience a "whirlwind romance" or an "abusive employer". A person can have a "trusted advisor" or a "troubled childhood". When you are introduced, you might be called an "old dear friend", or a "team member".

In other words, relationships define us. Each of us separately and all of us as humankind, we are defined by relationships to each other and to the whole. We are "estranged" or we are in "unity".

And of course, it varies from day to day or even minute by minute. There can be quite a wide range of harmony and discord. This can define for us if a day is challenging or nice-and-easy.

The lesson here is not how to judge relationships or which days are difficult, but to establish a concept of UNITY.

In your "now", as you read this, ask yourself if you are at one with yourself, with others, with nature. Do you want to be? Can you be more so than you already are? Surely we all can!

Peace is both a goal and a function here. As you contemplate peace and harmony, you may close your eyes for a short time. This meditation can change the rest of your day, and all your tomorrows. Even by resting yourself just a few moments, you can be your best Self.

And this is the state of mind that can bring unity. Ask for it now.

Take time to be at peace and ask for unity with each and with All.
Be at one within and without.
