Becoming the hymn

There is a gem in the way you take things;
It's left for us to ferret out
from life's underbelly and high places.
Manna, in the ordinary where others see terror.
Peace, almost unfeeling that feels everything
is the watchtower, and the lighthouse,
and the bonfire and the frost.
There is a charged convergence of light;
In the spirit-eyes of souls intersected
there reflects again the gem:
simple, for the taking,
for the becoming
of the hymn.

Maybe I used this word too much but wow!! I am so thankful to read this @d-pend. The ancient hymn gives peace to the soul. The pictures tell me a story. In the first picture I see the light and frailty of life. The second picture shows me we have a long way to go. The final picture show's me man's surrender to humble prayer. It is time to become the hymn ^^
I'm glad you could glean all that from the post @mineopoly. Sometimes pictures are mainly for the aesthetics, other times, there is a tangible progression from one to the next. So much, also, is up to the interpretation of the reader. Thank you for your comment and have a great day!

Peace, almost unfeeling that feels everything - this line got stuck in my heart together with the images that follow it. People seek for unique impressions without having a clue that PEACE is what their souls need.
Thank you, @liverussian... I sat on that line for a while, wanting to convey properly this expansive feeling. It seems detached, but underneath the calm, it is a powerful synthesis of many emotions. In a world obsessed with dramatic volatility, peace is often seen as boring! It is the personal experience of such things which is particularly striking, and clarifies the common misconceptions.
Only the one, who experienced peace once, starts really seeking for it , when it stops being just a word.
Indeed :-) This is the difficulty of speaking of many concepts: that they are vague until they are embodied through experience.

I actually just love your poetry.
The way you all portrait your words and make them an emotion.
The words might not be something to the one without knowledge but for one who believes in reading and knowledge would understand the feeling and depth behind the poetry.

I see poetry as something quite expansive, capable of encompassing many approaches. With this type of meditative piece, I let myself sink (or soar) into a contemplative mode, so I can discern the best way to describe these feelings, and hopefully impart them to the reader. It is a daily practice to which I am devoted. Have an awesome day! See you in the school :-)

The extended ellipses were a wonderful touch. Absolutely yes, it is the flexibility of the mind that determines so much how we see the world:)
