I NEED to meditate more

in meditation •  last month

Meditation obviously has its benefits, but often times people overlook the importance of this practice. Science has shown, although more evidence-based studies are needed, that mediation reduces stress and has both short and long term epigenetic effects on our DNA. It’s not well known that the effects are so drastic since we have no idea what is going on within our bodies on a biological/molecular level. We respond to everything around us, ranging from our social and physical environment. Everything impacts us whether we know or think it, or not. Meditation can actually halt, or even reverse the negative epigenetic marks imprinted on our DNA from harmful exposures. Simple acts, 5-10 minutes of meditation a day, can have immediate impacts on our overall health and well-being, even if you don’t have any idea it’s occurring. You’ll likely feel better, have more energy, and mental clarity, but deep down the effects are progressively changing your DNA for the future. And it doesn’t stop there. Transgenerational inheritance can be planted for generations to come. Who would have thought? Trust me, the evidence may be lacking, but one day, this will all come to light and you will be wondering why you never thought to take 5-10 minutes per day to simply close your eyes and breathe consciously .

Amazing to consider as this seems so logical, many (including myself) do not take the time to do it. I have it on my list as a routine I want to do soon!

Seriously!! Even possible at the desk while at work. It doesn’t have to be on a beach somewhere pretty. As long as you breathe deeply, consciously, and become aware, the mind and body will follow this focus and run with it !!

I know and studies show this, but further research will continue to uncover what remains unknown. We shall only continue to reap the benefits
