Neurologist Richard Saul reveals to the world the truth about attention deficit and hyperactivity. The expert had published a book under the succinct name "ADHD does not exist", arguing that the number of people affected by this psychological ailment, is zero. So is this disorder really invented? And if so, why?

The long history of the study patients

Dr. Richard Saul has been practicing for a long time. A long time in his medical practice he devoted to work with people who have a problem with concentration and inability to focus. Therefore, the expert is familiar with the phenomenon firsthand, what gives him the right to make such loud statements. He suggested that the syndrome of attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder is an artificial disorder that represents only a set of common symptoms. Saul is firmly convinced that the so-called disease should be excluded from the registry as a separate disorder in the diagnostic and statistical manual of the American psychiatric Association. The reasons were detailed in another book released in 2014.

The increase in the number of diagnoses

Today attention defiсit and hyperactivity is describes as a mental illness, which has its origins in childhood. Symptoms are determined by the mismatсh conduct skills based on the age of the patient. Children tend to show fatigue and lack of attention. It is inherent in impulsive actions and hyperactivity. It is worth noting that in recent years the number of diagnosed cases of ADHD has increased significantly. This is due to the fact that doctors use the syndrome as a simple reason to explain the lack of attention and concentration in children and the elderly, besides exploiting this diagnosis for their own selfish purposes. Permission for the use of drugs, prescription, indicates a direct benefit for the doctor.

A convenient diagnosis

Unfortunately, many parents agree to the use of drugs, because they too pursue their goals. For moms and dads any way to "tame" your hyperactive kid to get him to sit at the Desk and quietly listen to the lesson. And if prescription drugs are working effectively, so why not take advantage of the prescriptions the doctor? Currently printing "ADHD" is marked every ninth child. According to experts, approximately two-thirds of these children receive some kind of drug.

Danger used medicine

Unfortunately, the decision in favor of the medication is far from ideal. Drugs belonging to this category, are fraught with serious risk and are addictive, especially if we are talking about children's fragile body. Many doctors prescribed them, no questions asked, not particularly interested in pathology or intolerance. Richard Saul believes that the root of evil lies in the original decision therapists to prescribe a particular drug.

Big mistake

However, the attempt to treat ADHD as a disease is a big mistake. Doctors do not even try to understand the essence of the problem or work with every single patient individually. This phenomenon can be compared to as if the man has come on reception to the doctor complaining of heart, and he would have prescribed a painkiller without further detailed examination. Yes, within a few hours of uneasy sensations will cease and the pain will go away but people at risk of dying from a heart attack.

Saul warns that if you pay attention to the General, superficial symptoms, it is impossible to eliminate the root cause. ADHD looks like a handy excuse for inexplicable diseases. When doctors don't know how to make the correct diagnosis, there is always a convenient guise. In addition, this is a very attractive diagnosis, if we are talking about psychological disorders in the category of the adult population. There is a convenient opportunity to cancel a specific case the lack of early diagnosis and "neglect".

The interest of pharmaceutical companies

Here is what Harvard Professor Arnold Seymour Relman:

"Doctors depend on pharmaceutical industry, not only in terms of medical practice, but also from the point of view of new research. Academic institutions in our country allow themselves to be paid agents of pharmacologists. I believe that this shameful phenomenon".

As you can see, even the most authoritative experts believe that the doctor has long been sold out to the pharmaceutical companies, constantly developing new drugs.

The growth of the pharmaceutical companies coincide with the increase of diagnoses

The syndrome of attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder is classified as a mental disorder. It is noteworthy that the definition of the disorder coincided with the flourishing pharmaceutical industry. In other words, the symptoms have largely been influenced by research in the field of testing drugs. American psychologist Lisa Cosgrove and other researchers have discovered direct financial connections between a static and diagnostic manuals on psychiatric disorders and the pharmaceutical industry.

It was revealed that 170 members of the American psychological Association, which formed this edition, had one or more obligations to companies, leading the development and production of drugs. If you can track communications in the fields, here out of competition - diagnosis of mood disorders and schizophrenia. Significant correlation is observed in areas where diagnostic preparations are on the first line of treatment of mental disorders.

A way to action

According to experts who have studied this issue, this guidance all recent publications is largely a political document than a scientific one. Each diagnostic criterion is not based on medical aspects. The detection of the disease has not shown any blood tests. In fact, when diagnosing mental disorders doctors recommended to rely only on judgment of practitioners. Lisa Cosgrove was echoed by Dr. Irvin needs to be broken", assistant Professor of clinical psychiatry at the University of California at Los Angeles: "the very vocabulary of psychiatry is currently at all levels is determined by the pharmaceutical industry".

Important facts

Experts recommend that parents take into consideration all these facts, when it comes to diagnosing ADHD. It is unlikely that this "disease" has a real origin. It was described and classified for the purpose of earning money. Over the past two decades the pharmaceutical industry has moved very far. On a pharmacy market with high speed appear more and more new drugs. Now the health industry is first and foremost a huge marketing machine. And most of the efforts of this mechanism is focused on doctors. It doctors is the primary influence, they are given detailed guidance about how to do regulations.

A real doctor, they're so rare these days.

In the 2nd grade my teachers wanted to put me on Ritalin. My mom told them to go fuck themselves. Forever grateful

You have a good mom, respect.

ADHD diagnosis revolves around school. When you read the definition in the psychiatry books, it boils down to this -- The child can't sit still during a boring class.
I homeschool/unschool. I KNOW that my 11-yr-old son is healthy and normal, but his right-brained personality will not sit still for anything boring or irrelevant to him. When he really wants to learn something, he can sit still for hours! So it's not a matter of not being able to focus -- just a refusal to focus on boring stuff. That's his personality, as it is for a lot of boys especially. It's normal. It's not a disorder. It is the school system that needs to change, not the child.
On the other hand, my son does have one friend that they have labelled ADHD that I feel does have a disorder of some kind. He can drive me and others a bit nuts even in the home setting where children are playing as they wish. Still, I think that the vast majority of ADHD diagnosis is simply trying to fit an active, strong-willed child into a little box during school hours.

Totally agree.

If you're a doctor and you have a child patient with these symptoms:

Symptoms are determined by the mismatсh conduct skills based on the age of the patient. Children tend to show fatigue and lack of attention.

You should be looking at DIET, not mental disorders. The amount of fraud in the medical community these days is astronomical. I don't know how anyone still trusts them to help people.
