My sister Analeise was born with Arthrogryphosis, sever scoliosis and hyper kyphosis. She started spine surgery when she was just 6.
Over the past 5 years she has undergone numerous rod lengthenings and other spinal procedures.
She now requires definitive fusion to stop the curvature but this can not be done in the public system.
We have been told the surgery will cost approximately $100,000.00 but that the longer we wait, the worse her condition is becoming. Not only is her spine still twisting on itself, but it is also pushing her right rib cage around her body and her neck is slowly bending over, causing her to become a hunch back.
She suffers many many chest infections and is extremely tiny and fragile.
In order to maintain the current lung capacity and her current height, she needs her surgery ASAP but this kind of money is not something we have just sitting around and the hospital does not currently have a specialist to monitor her spinal activity and brain activity while her specialist performs the necessary operations.
Analeise is such a brave and strong little girl, and we really appreciate any help anyone can give us to get her the operation she needs.
She is the brightest and happiest child you will ever meet and she really does not deserve to be going through all that she goes through. No matter how much pain she is in, she will always have a smile and a kind word for everyone she meets.
