Treating Diabetes the Natural Way ~ Part 8

in #medical7 years ago

During the past few posts relating to this topic we have taken a look at various dietary supplementations that can aid in the treatment of diabetes and even help restore to a certain extent the body’s natural insulin regulation, we have also looked at various causes in type one and type two diabetes as well as busted the myth that diabetes is strictly weight related, If you enjoyed this article and would like to read more on the topic, I have added the links below for your reading convenience.

Today we will be looking at the natural healing power of Okra when it comes to diabetes.

Despite the fact that studies of Okra in the aid of treating diabetes is still in early stages this wonderful plant has proven itself as a wonderful dietary supplement regarding diabetes. Okra water, a drink that can be made by simply soaking okra seedpods in water over night, as well as roasted okra seeds have been proven to improve the blood sugar levels in the human body.
Okra is also very high in dietary fiber definitely a plus point when it comes to diabetic patients due to the fact that an increased dietary fiber intake has been shown to promote better glycemic control and improve insulin sensitivity.

Another lovely aspect of Okra is that it serves as an antioxidant and also has stress combating aspects and as anyone trying to combat diabetes knows, controlling stress levels makes up a great part of controlling diabetes itself. Long-term, high stress levels can cause blood sugar levels to spike.

Okra has also been reported to lower cholesterol levels due to their high content of dietary fiber as well as their antioxidant effects.

Another way of combating diabetes is by living an active life and increasing cardiovascular activity, and this is just another aspect that okra serves the case significantly, by means of serving as an anti fatigue agent, leading to the increased levels of energy making it possible for those living with diabetes to take on these active lifestyle changes.

Just make sure to consult your doctor if you are considdering any holistic treatments just to make sure that it does not interfere with any crucial medication that you are currently on.

Thanks for that post ! Follow!!

Diabetes is just another way to extract people's 💰

This is true, and the case in most prescribed medications!

I don't really talk about it much, but I was diagnosed with type 2 a few years back. I was able to completely get everything under control through diet alone! Thanks for spreading the word!

I appreciate you sharing that with me, thank you so much, yes a healthy lifestyle goes a long way, and not only when it comes to diabetes.

ONE LOVE MY FRIEND AND RESPECT TO YOU!

It taught me a valuable lesson. It also taught me to respect those suffering from type 1 immensely. Type 2 is more or less our own fault, but all those children with type 1 makes me sad. At least it's manageable, but I remember hearing a teen talk about it once and how they always thought about just taking too much insulin before going to bed so they wouldn't have to deal with it anymore and that makes me so sad. It felt like me having type 2 and not getting it under control was just an insult to the people with type 1. Sorry that got long winded... :) Namaste and much respect to you too.

Well you made the neccesary life style changes and you pushed through, and that just goes to show that it can be done.

Stay awesome!!

Diabetes is horrible, I hope they cure it soon. Great post to help those in the mean time.
