Also, I present a report based on the research carried out on the internet, about the detailed information related to MediBloc, which started as a project that was carried out by two doctors (Dr. Allen Wookyun Kho and Dr. Eunsol Lee) to give solutions to the different problems that the health system caused, in terms of data management and medical history of their patients.

What is it MediBloc ?

The technology company MediBloc, at the present time, it is building (worldwide) a decentralized platform for the personal health record (PHR) using blockchain technology. According to the legal regulations of each health institution, the medical histories and their data are part of the data inventory of each hospital or health center; So, medical records are fragmented and disseminated in all medical institutions, bringing as a consequence, the various difficulties to patients when they need to be treated in another health facility and by another doctor. The novel objective that MediBloc has, is to integrate these registers, creating a centered platform, where the patient is the one who allows to use their health care data; that is, they are granted the right and control of their medical data to avoid that the users of the service continue to undergo the same controls and repeat a lot of the analyzes because they do not have the permission of the previous doctor to show it when they visit a new doctor. With the revolutionary MediBloc process, all information is gathered in the patient's personalized profile, seeking to solve the problem when the relevant information is directly provided to the new treating physician, saving time and resources; with another characteristic that allows the best care and treatment, effective, fast and safe, to the patient.

In MediBloc, a system is designed for the use of a decentralized application platform that uses the virtual machine Ethereum. As explained above, MediBloc is committed to solving the problems of database manipulation in terms of personal health records, giving patients "control over their medical history and data, In addition, they can choose who has access to them. " Complied with HIPAA and avoiding access, not authorized, to the use of blockchain technology. Demonstrating this way, that blockchain technology can benefit the health sector at the same time that it fulfills a function of economy. Sharing or being able to choose who to grant access to your personal health care data and medical history, avoids going through unnecessary procedures and smoothing the treatment procedure. The blockchain technology guarantees the reliability of this data, even if the data is distributed to individuals. Otherwise, it presents the existing health data system, which has not been able to solve the problem of the security and reliability of the data generated by individual patients in the care and maintenance of medical information. With the MediBloc system, only people with a private key can access it, who decipher and reveal only their personal health care data. The encrypted data itself is stored in a decentralized and distributed storage network, not in a centralized server.

Reliability and safety features of blockchain to MediBloc

The actual method of storing data in MediBloc does not include writing the data directly into the block chain, but storing it in an external storage (for example, IPFS, etc.). So only the hash value of the data is written to the blockchain. This is the simplest way to test the reliability of our system while minimizing the size of the data written in the block chain. With this method, it is easy to determine when data is manipulated: it can identify when someone besides the owner tries to handle the data. We believe that this will ensure the reliability of health care data. In addition, we plan to provide a patient / patient-centered encryption method and not a hospital-based encryption method.

Patients who do not have personal devices such as a smart phone

Because each personal device will store a private key that can decrypt encrypted medical data, there is currently no way to use MediBloc without a personal device.

Integration using blockchain technology

MediBloc focuses its vision on the future, not only solving the current problems of the health information system using blockchain technology; also, it gives the user or patient, the administrative control of said health information, which previously was dispersed and belonged only to medical institutions. The process also allows us to develop an ecosystem where medical information is distributed safely.
