Low self esteem programming starts as soon birth where a weird person in a blue suit whacks you on the butt to welcome you to this world. Then as you can recognize images as a baby, they can leverage your low self-esteem to their purposes.

By getting you to doubt yourself for your shortcomings they can leverage your emotions so that you buy or vote a certain way to get rid of the feelings they have created within you.

Wonder why folks hate a certain group? Hatred of feminazis, blacks, whites, liberals, conservatives or even hatred of billionaires is all based on self-hatred from lack of self-esteem.
